Exit Through the Gift Shop is a "documentary" about Banksy, whose title references a specific work in one of the British street artist’s notorious break-ins to a museum. I put "documentary" in quotations because there has been some discussion about the validity of this film as an actual documentary, or another public "stunt" of Banksy himself. While Banksy's well-known stencils feature striking and humorous images occasionally combined with anti-war, anti-capitalist or anti-establishment slogans, the feature intends to look at his entire repertoire in a humorously anonymous light.

This film received overwhelmingly positive reviews, irregardless that its authenticity has been called into question... Was the film just another elaborate ruse on Banksy's part, or did Guetta really evolve into Mr. Brainwash overnight? Either way, I found it exciting, captivating, informative and wildly entertaining, farce or not...
It was an amazing adventure being brought into the dark and often chaotic world of these artists....the underground organization and sense of "danger" make them the outlaws of the artworld. I loved being "surrounded" by their intensity, creativity, innovation and talent. Banksy's renegade behavior, irreverence, sense of humor and mystery only deepens my interest in his work and this art form in general.
